How Does It Work?
Pain signals originate in the sensory nerve fibers. These fibers, located throughout the body, are responsible for sending pain signals to the brain. You cannot feel pain unless your brain receives these signals. Quadrabloc works by using patented, quadrapolar magnetic discs that block these pain signals.
Put simply, the QuadraBloc uses magnetic principles to disrupt the transduction of the electrochemical pain signals to the brain. QuadraBloc uses, not one, but four magnets and a focusing ring placed in a square or diamond pattern directly over the affected nerve, where the gradient of the magnetic field has the strongest impact on the nerve's pain signal. Even when treated with known pharmaceutical interventions, patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis can still experience periods of pain in a variety of locations: The SI joints, lower back, mid back, upper back, neck, shoulders, knees, feet, jaws, hands, ribs, etc. The risks and dangers associated with NSAIDs are well known. There are 3 factors that make Quadrabloc magnets effective in blocking pain:

It is well known that bipolar magnets produce a more uniform magnetic field. But it is the unique ability of Quadrabloc to generate a steep field gradient from the close interaction of alternating poles that makes it so effective. Common magnets have a negligible field gradient and hence they do not possess the same therapeutic effectiveness as Quadrabloc.

The patented design of Neodymium rare earth Quadrabloc magnets includes a unique arrangement of four magnets and a magnetic flux ring. It creates a sufficiently high gauss level and an exceptionally high (steep) field gradient.

Essentially it is the steep field gradient that blocks the firing of nerves that send pain signals to the brain. This does not mean that you will be numb and unable to feel in the area where you apply the magnets. They work on a specific nerve pathway and will not interrupt all sensation. Quadrabloc magnets come as a set of 4 single,
individual magnetic discs. Perfect for addressing
local pain with flexible application. A user guide
is included with the magnets to assist in proper
application of the magnets. It comes in a carrying
case. Each magnet is 1.5 inches in diameter. It
also comes with 104 adhesives (refills available).

Quadrabloc magnets also come in a 4 x 6 inch pad that contains a configuration of 5 magnets. It comes packaged in a case with 3 straps of various lengths that can be used to hold the pad in place. It works well for the aread of: lumbar back, shoulder, hip, knee, etc. It also can be placed beneath garments. If you have frequent and severe SI joint pain, a pad over each SI joint, and a third one in the middle over the lumbar region would be a very powerful configuration to completely combat this pain. For others with less severe pain, a pad over each SI joint is sufficient.

a "Back Belt". This belt contains a configuration of
7 quadrapolar magnets arranged in an optimal

Research and Scientific Backing
​
The principles that the QuadraBloc is based on were first published in Environmental Science in 1991. In
addition, the device's effectiveness is supported by more than a decade of cell research at the Vanderbilt
University School of Medicine and at the Center for Pain Research and Neuromagnetics at the University
Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, as well as numerous other studies performed around the world. To
eliminate the experimenters' biases, several of the studies done have been "double blinded," which is where
neither the doctor nor the patient know which group the patient is in: the experimental group, which uses the
QuadraBloc device, or the control group, which uses a "placebo" or a dummy device.
The bottom line is, the principles used in creating the QuadraBloc are scientifically researched and well documented.
All of the results to date demonstrate that QuadraBloc products are safe, low in cost and remarkably effective. The patented magnets have been around for over 20 years and have been sold in over 40 countries.

Your Quadrabloc magnets will last for a very long time. To ensure this, avoid exposing your magnets to extreme changes in temperature. For example, do not put them in the freezer or apply ice packs over the magnets. Also, do not get them wet or allow them to rust. For example, do not shower with them on.
